Darkness has already melted into dawn as I slip from my still sleeping folks. Being awakened by the noisome yet melodious chirping of the jubilant birds on the tree top, I thrive on this early morning rendezvous with the sun just as it peeps over the horizon. A kantutay (fave flower) scented breeze touches my cheek and the dancing, tall cogon grasses look like silver swords glistening and shining in the morning light. Mirthful and colorful butterflies enthusiastically fly to and fro adding more beauty to the misty blossoms of various colors. The new day beckons, and as I gaze at the verdant mountain of thick foliage not far away, I seem to be a part of it.
...Where am I? This place is not Sagada where we held our 3rd Youth Congress on April 2004, neither in Banaue, Ifugao; I can't behold the majestic Batad Rice Terraces, the 8th Wonder of the World which we hiked as part of our tour. This place is best suited for my morning devotions and fitted for the contemplation of heavenly things...the wondrous love of God...unfolded by the picturesque scene though marred by sin.
...Then my cell phone alarmed. Exactly 12:00 midnight; feeling quite topsy-turvy, I sat up muttering "ah! Just a dream!" After uttering prayers, my attention was marauded by the mirror. I stared myself. I just recently discovered my true self; I can't fool myself no longer...Yes! I have to admit that I'm no longer a minute lass, helpless, being cuddled by a loving mother. That's how I saw myself as I roll back the curtain of my memories. I'm not a girl, not yet a woman...but I'm in love!!!...
...much in love with the great Master Artist, GOD and His Masterpiece, Nature...Yeah! I'm a nature buff, a nature enthusiast, a loquacious BOOKWORM, a butterfly lover, a passionate writer. What more? I love to sing for the Lord's glory...you want a sample? "Jesus put a song in my heart, He turned my life around; He gave me a treasure, a heart of a servant..."I'm simply queer but not naive!".
